โBut Jesus called them to Him, saying, ‘Let the children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.’" Luke 18:16
The Nursery's mission is to provide a Christ centered approach to caring for children from birth through kindergarten. Childcare is provided for children in this age range for regularly scheduled meetings of the church unless otherwise specified. This includes Sunday and Wednesday Services and the Tuesday Women's Bible Studies.
Footsteps of faith is a time of Bible Study, fun, teamwork, and fellowship for children in the first through sixth grades. This year's 15-lesson course shows the early Church building on the foundation established in Acts 1, and taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Each child will receive a โBible Gems" booklet, containing all the memory verses to memorize for the year. The group meets on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM.
Vacation Bible School is an annual summertime event in which children ages 4 1/2 years old through 6th-grade come together for a fun, engaging, and edifying week. Based upon a Biblical theme, students enjoy creative activities organized by the church's capable volunteers.

Approximately 70 children joined us this year for VBS 2015. We studied the life of Elijah and saw over and over again God's faithfulness in the life of this mighty prophet. The VBS players were better than ever as they opened each morning with a skit to reinforce the day's lesson, aided by some amazing audiovisual effects. (Remember โChariots of Fire"?)
As always, the children were very attentive and demonstrated a good understanding of what was being taught. Especially noteworthy was the performance of the 2nd and 3rd grade class during Quiztron, a game played at the end of the week in which the children buzz in answers to questions from the lessons. The score was neck and neck throughout the whole game, so the sudden death tiebreaker question was for the 2 teams to go back and forth naming a minor prophet until one team missed, which was a real challenge because this was not even covered in the lessons. Amazingly, the teams tied even on that, because both teams knew all the minor prophets! (So ask yourself, as you smarter than a third grader?)
It's always rewarding to read the children's comments on what they learned. Some of their replies included:
โI learned about God's power and grace."
โI learned that Elijah proved that God is the one true God with the rain, widow, fire, etc."
โI learned that I can trust God and He can do all things."
โI learned about Elijah. God is sovereign. There are consequences for evil deeds."
โGod's great power can do anything."
โI learned about how Jezebel and Ahab did evil deeds and how Elijah trusted the Lord and obeyed Him. The Lord showed His power in this story!"
Once again, the Lord prepared fertile soil in the hearts of these children to receive His Word. Many thanks to all who had a part in this wonderful time of serving. As always, DVDs of the closing program are available from the media ministry.

The Believers Chapel Youth Ministry assists parents in evangelizing, teaching and equipping the next generation. Our purpose is to exhort every teen to glorify Christ through worship and fellowship, teach them submission to the authority of God's Word, instruct them in using their spiritual gifts for ministry and instill in them a passion for the lost.
Youth Group starts at 7 p.m. every
Wednesday night for Bible study and fellowship. Alan Angeles is
currently teaching through 1 Corinthians.
July 26-31, 2015
Fifteen members of the youth group and seven sponsors took part in the annual Believers Chapel summer youth group mission trip from Sunday, July 26 through Friday, July 31, 2015. We partnered with the youth group from Grace Baptist Church in Tahlequah, OK where Geoff Brown preaches. The two youth groups met at Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and were in charge of administering the children's evangelistic ministry through a week-long VBS camp. The objective was to give the students the opportunity to minister and preach the gospel to unbelievers, to work with Christians from Oklahoma and above all, to glorify God.
We stayed on-site at the church with fewer creature comforts than we were used to (no AC at night and no hot water for showers during the day) but as someone on the trip said, โWe didn't come here to sleep." That's very true. We came to preach the gospel to children who may have never heard the truth about Christ before. Many of these children live in poverty, have only one parent at home or have one or more parents in prison. Many of the children didn't behave in a manner that we were used to and it took some time to learn the best way to teach them. But when we did, it was very rewarding. They craved the loving attention we gave them and became attentive to the Word once they knew they could trust us. It was through lots of hugs and high fives that the Gospel was presented. Both youth groups organized all the music, games, crafts and most importantly Bible lessons for the whole week of VBS with only a little bit of help from the sponsors. It was a joy to see our youth take charge of the classroom and teach these precious children.
Our goal was that God would allow our youth the opportunity to โlet their light shine" (Matthew 5:16) through hard work, encouragement to other believers and evangelism. The Lord allowed us to be bold in our witness, to work hard and to have unity so that He could be glorified. It was a wonderful trip and I'm thankful I was able to be a part of it!
